Hope believes boldly. Decides daringly. Speaks firmly. Perseveres passionately
Hope is the most powerful emotion you can possess. Dont even argue with me. You will lose.
Having hope in your life is the best tool you can ever have in your emotional, spiritual, and mental arsenal.
Having hope gives you strength. Perspective. Joy. Peace.
Hope takes away fear. Hope lessens heartbreak. Hope gives you the ability to deal with terrible situations and not let it consume you.
Hope is the skeleton key to living a joy-filled life, but… you cannot have hope without faith.
Faith in a loving God. Faith that Jesus Christ is our savior & therefore, we are eternally saved (Amen!) – no matter what life throws at us.
Hope is what you have when you realize that ‘all things work together for good, to those who love God and are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28)
So while life hurts – pain is real – cuts go deep & some scars dont fade – hope reminds you that those things are not what define you. Not only are those things temporary but they have the potential to lead to wonderful things on the horizon.
When my mom died, I had no hope. When my husband left, I had no hope. I was all alone with a broken heart and no way to see past my pain.
I was not remotely considering that this grief could ever evolve into something that could be positive. Nobody says “Yay. Death and betrayal – can’t wait to see how this changes my life. Yippee!”
Of course not (and you’re not expected to, btw)
But one day I finally prayed for God to change my heart. I prayed for him to help me find a purpose for the pain in my life. I prayed for a different perspective.
And guess what I got – hope!
My faith finally kicked in that God would not give me anything to “punish” me!
Life is going to be hard for everyone. Death, cancer, crime, war, betrayal, addiction – no one escapes tough stuff. But maybe the tough stuff isn’t meant just to give you pain, but a different path in life that will lead you to something amazing.
Hope believes boldly that this life is amazing. That our God is a good good God. That even the bad stuff happens for a good reason.
Hope decides daringly to search for the light, rather than stay in the dark.
Hope speaks firmly & confidently that this pain isn’t the end of the story. There is greatness, even in the hardest trials.
Hope perseveres passionately in a faith that never fails – the faith that God’s plan for us is greater than anything we could ever plan for ourselves
My prayer for you today is that you choose hope over fear. It’s not easy. But none of this is.
Practice asking yourself “What if it all works out” rather than consume yourself with all the things that could go (or are going) wrong.
Hope is the most empowering emotion you can gift yourself. Seek it out, hold onto it tight, tap into it consistently. Use it to help you live your best life.
