We have to learn to trust God when we do not understand what is happening, and we need to be comfortable with unanswered questions
Is anyone else deeply frustrated that we don’t always know what God is doing, why He’s doing it, or when things will finally turn around in our favor?
Life is wild. It’s unpredictable—full of highs and lows, joy and pain, breathtaking beauty, and heartbreak so deep it feels impossible to breathe. It’s a million unanswered questions rolled into one big mystery. Faith and trust carry us through, but let’s be honest—what if we’re wrong?
Life is many things, but one thing it’s not is controllable. That task belongs solely to God.
Scripture promises us that “all things work together for good” (Romans 8:28). But what about when it doesn’t feel like it? When life hurts so much, and the pain seems endless? When your heart is shattered, your dreams feel crushed, and the future looks impossibly uncertain? How do we reconcile that reality with the promise of goodness?
The only answer I’ve found is simple but challenging: trust.
That’s it. Just trust.
Trust God, even when you don’t understand.
Trust that His plans are bigger and better than anything you could imagine for yourself.
Trust that it’s okay to have unanswered questions.
Can you do that? Can you surrender your life to something greater than yourself? Can you let go of control and be okay with not knowing?
I get it—it’s not easy. I know how hard it is to wrestle with these questions. The struggle is real, even on the best of days. But here’s the truth: I haven’t found an alternative. And I don’t believe there is one.
God asks us to trust Him in the unknown. He wants us to seek Him for guidance, direction, and ultimately to align our lives with His will.
“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).
Being uncomfortable with unanswered questions is part of the faith journey. We may never understand why tragedy strikes, why someone betrayed us, or why a dream didn’t work out. We’re not promised answers to every question, but we are promised peace, joy, and eternal life—if we’re willing to let go of ourselves and embrace the Almighty.
So, my prayer for you today is this:
Let go of the need for answers, closure, or certainty. Life doesn’t work like that, because God doesn’t work like that. Faith doesn’t work like that. Trust that God is working all things together for your good, even when you can’t see it. Rest in that truth.
XO
